In the search for health drinks for our kiddos we often come upon sparkling water as an option.  But is sparkling water healthy?

The answer depends on what type of sparkling water you buy.  There are many brands, types and flavours of sparkling water on the market but they are not all created equally.  In order for a sparkling water to be considered healthy it should be naturally carbonated and supply a good dollop of minerals.

In the video below I recommend the brand Gerolsteiner and we talk about it’s mineral content compared to the popular Perrie water.  Both are considered naturally carbonated but my favorite Gerolsteiner is the most natural of the two.  Natural carbonation means you do not need to worry about your summer drinks leeching minerals from your bones the way you do with carbonated drinks that add CO2 for bubbles.

And, yes that soda stream is adding CO2, so if you use it a lot, consider adding minerals to your water to compensate for the loss.
